Will doors fit inside the car? Help me quick! Found a good deal on a complete door to replace my dented/rusty one, but i don't know if it will fit in the car to bring it home. Anyone have any experience with this? Will it fit in the backseat, or the trunk with seat folded down? I measured and it's close but idk for sure and it's an hour drive to go to it!

Re: Will doors fit inside the car? Help me quick! might be able to put it in the trunk, but be sure to bring bungee cords to keep the trunk lid down and something soft to put between trunk lid and the door. __________________

Re: Will doors fit inside the car? Help me quick! Thanks for the quick reply, but, Uggh, the thought of open trunk on the freeway makes me queasy. Don't think it'll slide in back behind the passenger seat? Mabye if i took out the pass. seat and left it at home? Anyone else done this before?

Re: Will doors fit inside the car? Help me quick! Hell no it won't fit in the back seat. If you take out the passenger's seat and the center console, there's a chance you can wedge it inside the car though. __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by bykfixer it'll sound like an ultralight airplane or a moped exhaust funneled through a kazoo.

Re: Will doors fit inside the car? Help me quick! or why dont u just tear down everything on the door just leave the shell and the latch on the car so u can atleast lock the door on the highway when u get to the used door take yours off and junk it and bolt the used one to your car and swap out whatever parts ud like when u get home???? thats a process ud have to do when u get the door anyways make it easier on ur self....

It is risky but you just have to tie it down good, tie it inside the trunk lid, and then like he said put something soft in between the door and trunk lid, and underneath the door too. Then to make it better tie the trunk lid and then if you dont have a tow hook on the rear end of your car, there is one right underneath the trunk that you can use, stock.... as long as you use a good rope and not some old one that is going to rip at a simple tug then you will be fine.... and just to make sure just pull up on the trunk hard to test your job, no bump would be worse than your own strength pulling up on it.

Re: Will doors fit inside the car? Help me quick! theres no way a door will fit inside the trunk even with the seat folded down. i couldnt even fit my suitcase in the trunk when driving it back after i bought my lude. 1 oem 16" wheel with tire fit in the trunk perfect with little clearance between the face of the wheel and roof of the trunk. bunjie cord and blanket sounds like the best idea imo....bring 2 blankets and several bunjies though. good luck man.

Yeah to install by yourself would be really hard...ive heard people using car jack/jack stands and things to hold the door in place while they bolted it on but its so much easier if you have another person with you to help. maybe if the seller agreed to help, or you brought someone with you. I fit two 4G lude doors in the back seat of my 94 4dr Accord, but had to take the interior panels off then they fit no problem. __________________

Lawl just put that in the trunk man get some rope and bungees and just go for it. As long as you don't get crazy i don't see why anything would go wrong.
